The Journey

The hellish journey to heaven. It was a 30 hour odyssey from Cochecton to Pallazzo..

It all started out at noon on Monday...

The three hour trip to JFK was "unbearable."

Finally there....now to deal with Swiss Air's screw up. (We won't get into that)

The flight over was uneventful...

We're exhausted when we arrive in Zurich for our 8 hour layover. But not too tired to hit the candy store in the airport.

We hit the train to head into rainy Zurich...

The jet lag did catch up to us in Zurich though.

Alas, our first glimpse of Italy!

Waiting for the Chili dog to arrive at Rome airport. -Who is now gracing the pages of Hemispheres magazine. To see the article click here (5mb download): http://galleries.freelandphoto.com/diary.pdf

Finally, he arrives after 24 hours of being cooped up in his crate.

Lulu was doing a great job navigating the luggage cart, even though she couldn't quite see over it.

We had prepared our file of Chili's medical record and vet papers, only to be told by customs to proceed without even looking at them.

After a two hour car ride from Rome we arrive at midnight at our amazing destination in Umbria.
